Who we are
A local firm that grew with its town.
Brothers Andrew, now Managing Director, and Neil bought the business in the early 1990s, when it ran around five vehicles. Albies later moved to Suffling Road and today runs a large mixed fleet of taxis, private-hire cars, minibuses and freight vehicles.
We carry passengers locally, across the UK and into Europe, including ship and airport crew transfers and corporate car-and-driver hire by the trip, day or week.
Our own DVSA-approved MOT workshops keep the fleet maintained. Our drivers are police checked, and vehicle tracking shift reports are randomly checked every week.
Today Albies runs hackney carriages, private hire vehicles, minibuses of up to 16 seats, wheelchair vehicles and small freight vehicles, and employs over 300 people locally. More than 20,000 people have travelled with us.

Drivers and staff
Our drivers regularly carry children and elderly passengers across Norfolk and Suffolk, and all of them are police checked.
We randomly select vehicle-tracking shift reports every week, covering speed, direction and driving hours. Our office team is trained and monitored too, and is happy to visit business customers who'd like to talk things through in person.
An eco present and future
We run over 100 vehicles with emissions below 100g CO₂/km, including electric vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions, and keep investing as the technology improves.

Albies Taxis opens in a small office at the bottom of the Conge, Great Yarmouth.
Early '90s
Brothers Andrew and Neil buy the business, then around five vehicles, to run a reliable all-year service.
Suffling Road
Albies moves to its current home, adding minibuses, wheelchair vehicles, freight and its own MOT workshops.
Today
A 240-vehicle fleet and over 300 local jobs, with more than 100 sub-100g CO₂ vehicles on the road.
Greener today for a greener tomorrow.
We offset our carbon footprint by investing in conservation and tree planting with the Woodland Trust, and add new low-emission vehicles at every registration change.
